They are trying to do away with true competition and the dreams of smaller clubs of one day maybe reaching the EPL or for smaller, but ambitious EPL clubs of qualifying for the UCL. This was failed from the beginning and hopefully they have learned their lesson and will never try anything like this again. Hopefully with all the protests they have realised and accepted they were wrong and it was just a case of the not understanding why these aspects of the sport we hold so dear.

Gary Nevilles Salford City has been climbing up the leagues and his dream of getting them into the Premiership will be bittersweet now, as they will basically never be able to take them into this new top tier and compete.
