Immense interest in India over the Football World Cup – celebration in Kolkata & Violence in Kerela … but till when will India cheer for Brazil and Argentina ??? India is a rising sports power – high time then that we find a berth in FIFA World Cup 2026… only problem – there is a lot of distance to cover and the competition is getting intense. We could have played in a World Cup – in 1950 – but the AIFF bungled up & that sad story continues to this day.

FIFA and QATAR SHOCKED THE WHOLE WORLD WITH THEIR DECISION! MESSI PREDICTED TO WIN THE WORLD CUP!
ROONEY CHOSE MESSI
The Times
Reliability: 5
Wayne Rooney hailed Lionel Messi as the greatest and has chosen Argentina to lift the World Cup for the third time in Qatar. «For me, Argentina are the favourites. Unlike in 2018, they have plenty of good, solid players around Lionel Messi such as Lautaro Martínez, Leandro Paredes, Rodrigo De Paul and of course Ángel Di María. Winning the Copa America last year will have gave them confidence and has taken a bit of pressure off them. The climate will suit them too,» he stated in an interview with The Times.
Rooney has also claimed that Messi is the best player in history, even better than Diego Maradona. Whereas, the former Manchester United striker has restricted Cristiano Ronaldo to just being a goalscorer.
Qatar bans beer sales at World Cup stadiums
Officially
Reliability: 5
FIFA has issued an official statement on beer sales at Qatar 2022 World Cup stadiums: «Following discussions between host country authorities and FIFA, a decision has been made to focus the sale of alcoholic beverages on the FIFA Fan Festival, other fan destinations and licenced venues, removing sales points of beer from Qatar’s World Cup 2022 stadium perimeters. There is no impact to the sale of Bud Zero, which will remain available at all Qatar’s World Cup stadiums. Host country authorities and FIFA will continue to ensure that the stadiums and surrounding areas provide an enjoyable, respectful and pleasant experience for all fans. The tournament organisers appreciate AB InBev’s understanding and continuous support to our joint commitment to cater for everyone during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,» FIFA said in a statement.

The Netherlands is looking to make two statements in their opening FIFA World Cup 2022 game on Monday (November 21) against a Senegal team that has to quickly get over the loss of star forward Sadio Mané. The first is strictly about soccer and establishing the team as a contender for the title in Qatar alongside the likes of top-ranked Brazil, defending champion France and Argentina. The Dutch have gained less attention in the buildup to the tournament after failing to qualify for the World Cup in Russia four years ago, but arrive as one of the top form teams in Europe.
