Ukrainian Football Association calls on FIFA & UEFA to expel Russian sides from their competitions

The Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) has called on FIFA and UEFA to kick out Russian teams from their competitions as well as stripping St Petersburg of being host city of the 2022 Champions League final.

The sporting community has been quick to respond to the escalating situation in Ukraine.

The Prime Minister has announced a number of far-reaching sanctions on Russia, which includes a UK ban on Aeroflot, who are a commercial partner of Manchester United.

Poland, Sweden and Czech Republic have released a joint statement saying they will not travel to Russia to play World Cup play-off games due to security fears.

In Formula One, Former world champion Sebastian Vettel has said he will not race at the Russian Grand Prix this season as the sport says it is «closely watching» events.
